National Construction Code (NCC) NCC Viewer
Commencing with NCC2012, (including previous editions), the NCC is available in a digital download format which will require users to install a small application to open/view the files. This new system allows the ABCB to protect the Intellectual Property of the NCC. The system permits each digital publication to be installed/viewed on 2 machines. When installing for the first time on each PC, Mac or notebook, an Internet connection will be required, after that the digital publications are available ‘offline’, i.e. no Internet connection is required. Once the maximum 2 downloads/installations have been reached, no more will be allowed. If the viewer is installed onto more than the 2 allowed machines, it will not open the digital publications on the additional machines. To help manage our licensing agreement and protect or Intellectual Property the system creates an audit trail by monitoring all NCC downloads and installations.
Users who wish to transfer the digital publications to another machine will need to contact the ABCB Customer Support Centre via email (email@example.com) requesting the transfer. Once a transfer is processed the viewer will no longer open the digital publications on the machine it was transferred from. Similarly, if you uninstall the Viewer you will not be able to re-download the digital publications without contacting the ABCB first. The steps below detail how to download and install the viewer application.
The NCC Digital Edition Viewer for Windows is supported up to Windows 8.
